During the 70’s and for 20 years El Casco was a famous lodge on the shore of the lake that attracted tourists from all over the world with its atmosphere of European glamor and the friendliness of their owners and hosts Alfred and Ruth von Ellrichshausen. The hotel went through successive owners and closed its doors for seven years until Ignacio Gutiérrez Zaldívar bought the property.
The new building was constructed with a classical but contemporary premise, preserving the spirit that its former owners printed on it; retains the old Casco spirit of hospitality and care for details.
It presents in all its areas the Zurbarán Collection , which includes original paintings and sculptures by 40 great Argentine artists, such as Pablo Curatella Manes , Fernando Fader , Benito Quinquela Martín , Cesáreo Bernaldo de Quirós and Raúl Soldi . It is our distinctive and unmatched added value that you will enjoy during your stay.
The decoration stands out for sobriety, where well-distributed furniture does not compete with the works of art that are the hallmark. The works have been arranged in different areas of the hotel; Each space has its own imprint and invites contemplation and enjoyment.
The Gardens, designed by Ing. Carlos Thays (great-grandson), feature sculptures by Argentine and European artists.
